  1. top off question

You can make a gravity feed auto-top off. They are simple to make, require no electronics and low cost. I've made them out of 5g buckets, sealed, w/ 3 bulkheads (2 exceptable, gurgle though), 3 valves (for fail safe filling). The big draw back with them is they need to be elavated above...
  2. Coral-Friendly Puffers?

None that know of. If you find any, let me know.
  3. Want to open A LFS. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Ok, LR, snail & hermit wholesaling, thats a different story. Very little DOA/DAA, not hard to go wrong. Your revised plan sounds good. I wish you the best. Sounds like your already doing it, and making it work.
  4. death of the corralline

Whats your water parameters? Happen after water change? Any more info for us?
  5. where can I get rare morays?

Scott goes by orectolobus on this board. DanConner is correct, thats the forum I meant. Jewel is a super moray, nice choice.

You're 1st thought was correct, its a sponge. "Sweeper tentacles" are just new growth.
  7. Wholesalers in Sacramento?Bay Area??

Pan Oceanic is in the bay area, not sure of contact info, but a lot of bay area stores use them.
  8. Want to open A LFS. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Lazyreefer, Unfortunatly, knowing money, and actually making money in this hobby are two different things. Selling rock & RO water may make money, but they don't come even close to making a business. You'd have to sell a lot of both daily. Being in retail, I sold 30 lbs rock daily on average...
  9. I got ants...

I've used a solution of concentrated peppers. Just get the hottest pepper available to you, boil them down in water (do in VERY WELL VENTILATED AREA), put solution in spray bottle, a killl the bastards. Hydroponic stores cary a similiar product, it kills many different pests safely.
  10. pyramidelline snails

correct me if I'm wrong (sure some one will), aren't six line wrasses durnal and snail in question nocturnal?
  11. where can I get rare morays?

THANK YOU, imow, thats my point exactly. Not rare in ocean, rare in hobby. Too damm deep, many dangers in deep diving. Repeated deep diving causes many horriable ailments. Deep divers don't last long, it's not a great career choice. It's not like deep divers retire @ 65 on pension, more...
  12. where can I get rare morays?

Few years, try few months (with this particular angel). Rare fish are just hard to get, to far away, to deep, collection of them not allowed or very few of them. Clarions aren't rare in their environment, but they command $2,000 to $5,000 if your lucky enough to get one. Asain fish...
  13. Can someone give me some info on tunicates

And the author Steve Tyree runs a nice site. He gives a kick ass presentation to boot.
  14. A Question about Garf.

If it works for you, it works. All tanks are different, therfore, there is no 1 way. I've tried many different peoples methods of tank set-up, all worked, all had own LITTLE problems. I've tried there set-up method, it worked, it grew, and it thrived. Every method I've tried, I learned...
  15. algae problem

Sounds like diatoms, I wouldn't worry, like you said, its just a part of cycling. Feeding a tank during cycling adds a source of food for bacteria your trying to culture (cycle). There needs to be some source to start from or grow from. People use all kinds of methods of supplying the...
