Chaeto macroalgae is excellent for exporting phosphates, it has wiped out all the hair algae in my tank, now I clean the glass once a week or two (still can't believe it myself). Also it's good to have a phosban reactor.

Same here, bought a couple for my 120G two months ago and aiptasia starting to disappear. I've tried all other methods before with no luck.

Yes, I do. Also I have a skimmer with OR 250 needle wheel pump for $75.

My Ro/Di filter gives me 0 tds when it's on (water flowing through filter) and after it stops tds goes up to 15. I've just replaced all filters and membrane. I have 100gpd 4 stage system with 3g canister. Anybody had this problem? I have green hair algae outbreak because of it now.

Wiping is old fashion, now we just blow it with a powerhead

But I don't think it has anything to do with skimmer. Usually you adjust it to have a full cup in a few days, unless you want to empty it every day.
