1. Worm eating my Montipora

Does anybody know what this worm is? I only saw the head of it, so i dont know how long it is. It could be 1/2" or 3", i dont know but its inside my Montipora digitata and i saw it eating it last night. Also, the damage it's done is noticible. Anybody here ever had this problem? or know what to...
2. My water is cloudy

My skimmer was only not producing during the time the water went cloudy. i suppose i do have a "highly efficient" skimmer given that i have a CPR backpak on a 10 gallon tank. but, this is the first time i had a massive die-off in macro. when macro algae goes sexual, does it die?? i guess i...
3. My water is cloudy

Hi, thanks for your replys. i've had this tank about 18 months. Also, the weird thing is that the skimmer isnt producing anything. whatever it is in the tank has caused it to stop producing skimmate. i was producing alot of "skimmate" before today. the skimmer is a CPR backpak and is working...
4. My water is cloudy

I came home today too see my tank with almost 0 visibility. most of the corals look normal, in fact, one of them looks better, more fully extended. I've had a massive die-off in my macro algae starting maybe 2 weeks ago or less. Did one of the macro-algae's go "sexual"? otherwise, i dont have...
5. Floating Needle - Specific Gravity testers

That article seem to show that the swing arm wasnt accurate. i bought one of those about a year ago. tried it out and never used it again. It was impossible to get the little bubbles off. Even if there was one very tiny bubble on the arm, it would distort the reading. So, i concluded that the...
6. How to feed a Humu picasso trigger...

i never had a huma trigger, but i've kept triggers once upon a time and they're meat eaters. i used to feed mine peices of shrimp/fish that i bought from a grocery store. they also loved live shrimps. they'll shread those to pieces.
7. Green star Polyp

they dont like changes in water conditions. once i dosed with too much kalk and it affected them. well actually my FL brarium is even more sensitive. didnt come out for a week. did you do anything to change water conditions? especially PH.
8. A little Aiptasia problem - peppermint shrimp???

i wanted to add that when i went to the LFS i got the biggest peppermint shrimp that they had because i read somewhere that the bigger shrimps are more likely to eat aiptasia.
9. A little Aiptasia problem - peppermint shrimp???

I have a peppermint shrimp that zealously ate all the aiptasia i had. for some reason though it also attacked one of my FL ricordia polyps. It ate what it could and the polyp died within 3 days of the attack. It didnt bother the orange polyp that i had (i now have 3 polyps and one has 2 mouths)...
10. worm ID please

Hello, i saw this worm in my tank yesterday. it looks remotely like a bristleworm except the color is more of a white and black bands, maybe 4 inches long and has 3 main antennas. the 3 antennas are also black and white stripes. at first i thought it was a small brittle star fishes arms, but...
11. Do peppermint shrimps eat bristleworms?

I have to agree with the dissappearing food theory. i used to have alot of bristleworms when i first set up my tank. the problem for the worms is that my tank has no substrate so they lived in the rocks. my biggest worm got chopped up by a powerhead and most of the other worms just disappeared...
12. bristleworms, 12 inches, friend or foe?

i say send in the weapons inspectors first rather than do the pre-emptive strike. removing the king kahuna might wrile all the other bristleworms into striking back.
13. Flying Fish Express

True about the life on the FL rock, but i've heard alot of people say that their FL rock came with mantis shrimps. in some cases, alot of mantis shrimps. another thing to keep in mind is that FL rock is very dense. its heavy for its size. something like Marshall island rock (i think) is very...
14. Rio powerheads

i read online some review that said rios are the best when they're used in a way that they're on all the time. if you use them with wave-makers and they are stopping and starting all the time, then they're not good for that purpose. it said that rios have one moving part and they dont wear out...
