LordNikon,
Yes, I have been away for quite some time. Sold all my aquariums when I moved New Years day of 2004 and have yet to get back into the hobby. But as you can tell by my reappearance, thinking about putting together a small reef tank.
I used to run dual sunburst...and I really liked them. I did not use any other lighting in conjunction. The will start off more on the blue side, but will leave once they burn in.
Im sure it isnt from a fish bite. I have fed a blue linkia to a pair of harlequin shrimp and I had to use a prety good size wire cutting tool to cut off a leg of the linkia.
I used to have a hang on red sea berlin turbo on my 120 FOWLR. It seemed to work ok, until the day I also installed a AquaC Remora Pro on the same tank. Had both of them running and after that day, the Red Sea never did pull out anything.
Your probably going to get mixed reviews about emerald crabs. The one I had loved to trim my xenia for me, but it never bothered any fish or shrimp, that I was aware of.
On another note, I would make sure the overflow intake pipe going to the sump ends below the water line. This way there is no water splashing noise. I would also use a 100 micron sock attached to that pipe to act as your mechanical filtration.
