This 1 1/2 year old thread is interesting. You would think the economy has impacted the live stock industry, not much discussion.

I do not buy from my pet shop anymore either.

Ya this trend will no doubt harm the local store business but it is not the end of the hobby. The same happen to the local gas station, coffee shop and cafe. I can still buy gas , coffee and breakfast though, just comes from a different source. Feel bad for the fish store guys though.

I think it is called "chain of distribution ". It just became shorter is all. Too bad retailers, business is business!!!

The greater solution is to ban or further restrict the importation of livestock , period. The lesser solution is to play by the rules and obey the laws.

The industry should avoid messes such as this, it ruins it for everyone.

I think they guarantee all there livestock, some for even 30 days, at least they use too.

Hunting for your family is not a Constitutional Right. Read the Constitution of the United Sates or try shooting an eagle to provide for your family.

Hunting is a privilege, NOT a right. Privileges can be taken away, rights cannot. You have a right to " keep and bear arms " ( some arms ), however, you do not have a right to hunt anything, hunting is a privilege.

I think he once said his overhead is so high he does not profit off the selling of livestock, that is different then selling livestock for what you pay for it. I always thought their prices were o.k., but I doubt that is what they pay. Went to their swap once and the facility is a freakout and...

Oh, thought they meant internet sellers. Many of the ones I used to buy from have gone down, seems no one makes money selling on the internet, I meant. Not sure what snailman was sayin.

Ya, MDepot must not have been making a profit on live stuff. Does anybody?
