If you plan to keep any corals, you should invest in an ro/di. The triple TDS amount is probably from the storage container. Is it food grade plastic, did you clean it out before filling it?

I know that you're an old timer in this hobby but just putting it out there, is your probe calibrated? I calibrated my probes and afterwards they were reading in the 8.6s and 8.7s. Even though my probes can still be calibrated I still believe that my probes are old and are drifting too much for...

I scraped and then scrubbed with a magic eraser and some of the haze was still there. Eventually over time, most of the haze disappeared but I would not say 100% You can do a search on R2R about it and others have had the same results with LC and haze.

Years ago I was dosing diluted LC for a fowler/some corals system and over time it started to haze my low iron glass. Just a heads up if you start to notice the same.
