  1. (edit) Pest anemones everywhere...

Laura, I think these are what I have. Your pictures are exactly what mine look like. They are all relatively small and have the bulbed end with the pointy tip. And they are brown like yours. At first I was thinking, "cool!" BTA's! But when I saw them spreading like this I quickly realized...
  2. (edit) Pest anemones everywhere...

I don't want to cause a scene if they aren't BTA's afterall, but I am almost positive. Whatever they are they are spreading like mad. They're not translucent like aptasia, more of a dark brown with a greenish hue. The mouth is quite large and has an orange-ish color in the center. I'll take...
  3. (edit) Pest anemones everywhere...

--- sorry for the earlier excitement. They are Majano anemones for sure ID'd by Laura.
  4. Suggestions on securing corals

Hi there. I have a number of little pieces of rock with coral frags attached to them. I place them in perfect harmony with my rockscape and then a naughty turbo snail knocks them over. I've been tempted to sample these snails as escargot, but that's not a good solution. Is there any way to...
  5. Propping hood up with JBJ

Thanks Matt. Great suggestion! I was a little bummed out about this but now you've shown me the "light!"
  6. JBJ Nano Cube....... Unmodified

Hi. Just curious about "cutting" slots on the upper intake. Please explain. I've had some issues with scum on top of water. Thanks.
  7. Propping hood up with JBJ

I guess I wasn't clear in my original post. The arm itself is fine. It was acutally the piece where the screw is. I think I got the old design where the arms aren't screwed in and is housed in this plastic piece so the arm can swivel. This design is way better and probably was the result of...
  8. Propping hood up with JBJ

 Big bummer...this is totally my fault and I thought I'd let you all know. I lazily only was propping up the hood of the tank with one of the plastic doo-dads and the other day the piece to hold it broke, so now I only have one left. It was my mistake, but damn that piece is flimsy. I...
  9. Temperature of water in JBJ 12 gal. nanocube

get a heater! i have a Ebo 50-watt and am very happy with it. I don't even need to test my temp anymore. Just set it, and forget it!
  10. My nano

wow!! very nice. keep up the good work!
  11. JBJ Nano Cube filter.. How to maximize whats there?

so far i've taken everything out except for one sponge, my water was getting a little cloudy so i decided to leave one in and see what happens, so far so good. i noticed without all the crap back there the water seems to flow a little bit better. it's been about a month and a half with no...
  12. Powerheads for 20gl.

i had a 20g before and MaxiJet 1200's worked out pretty well
  13. Another 11 gallon nano

    Lovely! Nice work.
  14. New JBJ Nano Cube

I changed my powerhead to a mini-jet mc 405 (i think, it's the one that is 158 gph). the higher flow rate breaks the surface slightly more which has helped with the film and clean the sponge fairly regularly. The new powerhead is much quieter now also.
  15. Best place to buy a Nano Cube on-line??

I bought mine at http://www.southbroadwaytropicals.com/ It was $140 including taxes and shipping which i don't think was a bad deal. The item was packed very well in styrofoam peanuts. I'd recommend them.
