The stuff in my sump just makes my natural filtration more than it would be if I relied on just what is in my display. I use a filtersock, and a prefilter sponge on my return pump. This allows me to manually remove crud before it breaks down.

It takes less effort to clean the sock than it does to take a shower. Remove sock Throw in washing machine with 1/2 cap of bleach and wash Replace.

My tank had sooooooo much calcfication going on that the air siphon hole at the top of my cpr overflow gets clogged and that caused mine to loose siphon and kill my tank while on vacation. I still use it but won't take another vacation until I drill my tank. ;) I check the overflow daily...

Bionic does NOT always have to be dosed A&B evenly. I had to dose 2 pt. cal to 1 pt. alk. Every tank is different and needs different doses. I know some will say I'm wrong, whatever.

That's how my bac. bloom was. Worse when the halides kicked on. But not bad 1st thing in the morn. Good thing it lasted less than a week and the pods followed right after the bloom. Now I'm clear and pod infested. :lol:

Eek, I always did hot wiring because I was told it's OK as long as you don't touch both wires. I'm gonna kill the guiy who told me that. I guess I've been lucky. :lol:

DO NOT touch both + and - wires a the same time. Even better, turn the circut off or if it's old pull the fuse first.
