  1. 1000 gallon tank information/question

Wow, I thought I was outgrowing my 225 Reef, and already have my significant other talked into a 750 Reef. You are talking a 1G Freshwater rig. I already know the cost upgrade for a Reef setup in that size, and I know a Fresh in that size is next to nothing, compaired to a reef. So my...
  2. need to know if this a good deal????????

I would venture to say it's a good deal. I picked up my 225 complete for 1,100. It sat in a garage under a tarp for 3 years. I had the entire thing re-sealed and drilled. Been running for over two years now, and it cost me 5,400 to turn it on. It is a reef system with closed loop...

  7. Lighting Options for a 240 Gal Reef

reefnut, I saw that no one gave you an answer, so I will give it a try. Not knowing what you are going to grow, sps, lps, softies, etc, here is what I would do, and this is actually the setup that I currently have on my 225. 4 VHO's, on two 660 Ice Caps. 3 03's and one Actinic white. (or...
  8. help me choose a calcium reactor

I use the K2R on my 225, and quite pleased with its performance. I also drip kalkwasser with my topoff water. I do it for two reasons. Helps prevent large ph drops over night (currently avg 8.1 night, 8.5 day), and it precipitates the phosphates that comes from the dissolved reactor media...

  11. WHAT ONE THING MAKES YOUR REEF AQUARIUM SUCCESSFUL?

I agree. Patience, patience, and more patience. Once the systen is up and running, just keep everything in balance. My tank/corals let me know when things go askew. Other than that, patience Other than that, just place the coral(s) in the tank, and if they are happy leave them alone, if...
