  1. Local Aquarium Stores and Supplies - Interactive Map

I can't leave a review because it says no apersand, single or double quote characters and I don't believe I did leave any. Mike
  2. Local Aquarium Stores and Supplies - Interactive Map

Cool map. I am unable to leave a review though, there are too many restrictions. Mike
  3. Taking care of tank while friend is on vacation!

Yeah do not overfeed! Best to underfeed. Also, keep the house temps down so the tank doesn't get too hot, it's important to keep the temps steady at 78. Mike
  4. losing coraline...HELP!

Are there white spots where the coraline used to be? My tank is showing the same thing and it's about the same age as yours. Could something be eating it? I have several quarter inch limpets in my tank. Could that do it? Thanks, Mike
  5. number one reason this site ROCKS

Problem solved. SBC has a contract with Yahoo and Yahoo was considering reefs.org spam. Thanks for the help. Mike
  6. number one reason this site ROCKS

I double checked my profile and it has the correct email address. Could it be because I am using a Macintosh? There's an RC forum I frequent that appears to use the same program this site does and I get replies from that site. Mike
  7. number one reason this site ROCKS

I prefer this site too. Another site I frequent seems to get more activity, but the people here are just plain nicer. My compliments. Keep up the good work, Mike P.S. For some reason I don't get emails letting me know when there is a reply.
  8. macroalgae

I'm in Southern California and could use some cheatomorpha. Where are you? Thanks, Mike
  9. brineshrimp food

Can I get some more information on nannochloropsis and isochrysis? Thanks a lot, Mike
  10. Another Hitchhiker ID???

Can anyone identify this polyp? It's about 2.5-3mm long.
  11. hermit crabs still in favor?

I've found that the bristleworms and pods did a thorough job in cleaning the rock and sand in my tank. Only have three Nassarius snails, but they are always in the sand with their siphons sticking out. Mike
  12. DSB

I've noticed that the bristleworms and pods completely cleaned off the rock during cycling. Looks like I may not even need to get any crabs or snails. But then, crabs are cool to watch. Mike
  13. Yet Another ID

Actually my dad took it. He is the expert. We used a Nikon D100 SLR camera mounted on a tripod with a 105mm macro lens and three extension tubes to magnify the object. Then tried different F-stops to find the one that worked best. After that, the picture was cropped in Photoshop and also the...
  14. If you dont have this you are either rich or an <edit>

I second the above comment(s). Mine only cost $60 though and it is a high quality one. Mike
  15. live sand or argonite

Argonite is a type of sand that uses crushed coral I believe. Live sand is sand with living things in it, like bacteria, bristle worms, and other creatures. If you don't buy live sand, it will become live eventually as your tank matures. The life in the sand helps filter the water. Buying 'live'...
