  1. Help! What are these spots?

Sorry, I only answered half of your question. No the spots are not moving.
  2. Help! What are these spots?

Hi, Thanks for the resize. It has been closed for three days now. Four days ago it seemed to be fine. In addition to the spots you can see what looks like a fungus or something at a lot of the joints.

Sorry for the size of the photo. Still learning.
  4. Help! What are these spots?

This coral was bent right over yesterday. It is standing up today, but I've noticed black spots on it. Any thoughts on what this is and how to remedy it?
  5. Carbon & Filter Feeders

The water parameters seem to be fine. I have checked for phosphates and they are not detectable. I did replace my two, 55w power compacts a couple of weeks ago. They were 7 months old. The new lights were the same brand (Coralife) and did appear to be quite a bit brighter. It was the new...
  6. Carbon & Filter Feeders

Sorry, I failed to answer your question the first time. Yes I did wash the carbon in the Nylon bag until the water coming out of it appeared clear.
  7. Report: Caribbean coral reefs down 80 percent

At first I chuckled at your post. But then I got to thinking, has anyone ever heard of an attempt restore a reef? I know they sink ships and dump rail cars in the ocean, but I'm talking about restoring what nature had built and man tore down. Even if it was only a few hundred yards in area...

  12. Red sea prizm hang-on skimmer

I have to concur with Dan81. I have a Red Sea and I can't keep it at the same foaming action for more than a few days. It's always needing adjustment.
  13. kalkwasser drip ideas?

I went to my local pet store and bought a dripper for a reptile aquarium. They need dripping water to emulate the humidity of a rain forest. It works great and cost me less than ten bucks.
  14. feather dusters

I've been travelling this week on business and following this thread. I've got 3 feather dusters and find them to be both beautiful and interesting. I just got back from the airport to find the feathers on my Hawaiin Feather Duster looking very ragged. It has appeared to be happy and healthy...
