  2. My 230g Tank

A little update pic Tanks not doing very well on the nutrient side of things actually its bloody awful tbh My nitrate is 50ppm and phos 00.09 Decided to give ZEOvit a go with the end result being a low nutrient tank that is bacterial run, Then hopefully ill be able to add more fish/food and...
  3. SPS Comparative Growth Rates

Acropora Formosa ,Acropora Nobilis, Acropora Nana, Acropora Aspera are four that ive found grow really quick in ideal conditions Not forgetting Millepora aswell ..And quite a few other fast growing stag species Digis should out run most acros, Then there's always Seriotapora they grow like...
  4. Tank crashing - need help

So what are your TDS reading coming from the RO unit? Have you measured the readings at all!
  5. Tank crashing - need help

For sure it a water problem .. What kinda skimmer do you use ..Seriotapora can be awkward to colour up if nutrients are high, Given the slime algae it might be worth checking the TDS reading of your Ro water this may play a part in the problem if you havent changed the filters and DI for a...
  6. Tank crashing - need help

The first pic, Well if you place yellow polpys near SPS The yellow ones will kill the neighboring acro
  7. Tank crashing - need help

Yup but those pics dont show to me any signs of tank a tank crashing, Far from it it lookes quite healthy to me, The only thing i can spot if the lack of experience ..white tips do get confused with die-back
  8. Tank crashing - need help

Ah pics do speak volumes! .. Nothing out the ordinary imo, White death? Looks like healthy growth tips on the green slimer to me, i dont see any die back from the base. Were these pics taken close to a water change? .. I see possibly carnage from a fish care to list what you have? The...
  9. Tank crashing - need help

For sure pics arent always needed but if every question started with a picture it would stop guess work to a degree .. Nitrate can vary from day to day but if its floating around 10ppm on a new test kit i dont see a problem, Not perfect but cant personally see it crashing a tank or causing it to...
  10. Tank crashing - need help

10ppm nitrate wont be the problem, Until we see a pic how can we prejudge anytank!
  11. reefkeeper elite or ???

Personally id never rely on a controller to run my tank for me the hands on approach works better .. Too many componants to go wrong and they can, Plus the expense and hassle of cleaning probes all the time. The important stuff to monitor like calcium, magnesium, nitrate, phos, salinity, can be...
  12. Temp Fluctuation Tests - opinions?

Ive found the best way to control heat from halibes is to use a dimable ballast (Ok chillers work but cost more). They are great beacause you can easily vary the wattage with a turn of a button, Really helps when you run 400w like i do.
  13. sps feeding

24/7 feeding does that equate to fish constancy crapping in the water, Given the right amount of fish + fish food imo thats all thats needed for SPS. Imo if you get the balance of these in check adding extra coral food if fruitless and just adds more pollutants ..
  14. natural reef (or as close as i can)

So Ben does your real life missus know about this pic? I agree those two look very natural lol Good luck getting the colour back in those acros ..Most people start the other way around
