This is another 55 gallon I just started about 2 months ago.
55 gallon standard Sea Clear acrylic tank
2 48" 40w URI actinic white bulb
2 48" 40w URI actinic 03 bulb ( Will be upgrading to VHO after I get my skimmer)

I ran one of them for years they work great for low$$ and free stuff better then nothing. I found that I had to use the red sea replacment air block. I would soak the new one in water overnite set the air pump so the bubles were right at the bottom of the cup also it takes them forever to break...
I plumbed my closed loop into the back of my overflow close to the bottom and the drain to the sump right though the bottom of the tank. I then installed a durso pipe so when the sumps shut off the closed loop runs as a sump in the over flow. I have run it like this for days at a time all that...

No it's not new just new to me. It does have cansistent white foam but nothing in the cup. I will wait, great tanks are not built in a day.
