Russ you can never be to safe when there are children in the home they seem to do the strangest things lol...and as for the top I cross braced the stand with 2x4 from top to bottom...with all this weight I had to make sure this stand passed my wife's inspection lol....Jay

LOL Thanx bro....OK The stand is 2ftx6ftx3ft tall...I also anchored the stand into my concrete slab that it is sitting on with hilti expansion bolts....The tank is a reef savvy 24in.x72x30....the equippment that will run this project is a Reef Octopus 3000e skimmer,A Ehiem 1262 return pump...

I gotta say the team at MA are by far the best people to deal with and will work with you on anything they have in stock.......AS for the selection it's top choice....Jay... just another person addicted to reefing!!!!
