1. REEForm Notice To Industry

Bunch of hot air I think. Just one big huge @ss troll.
2. DPI versus Megapixels

That is not what I stated. I said the highest I had found was jpegs being saved by a digital camera were 116 DPI. We just found that the higher the DPI the jpeg was saved in the better it printed out for our purposes.
3. REEForm Notice To Industry

Don't mean to rain on your parade but. . ... just call me a paranoid skeptic. You're a successful lawyer right? Yet, you don't know how to spell injustice or the proper use of past tense. How about we get your identity confirmed by someone we trust. Why don't you PM the admin your law firm's...
4. DPI versus Megapixels

The DPI the camera saves the jpg in does make a difference when you are trying to process many pictures with minimal retouching via software. Most digital cameras save their jpges somewhere between 75 - 100 DPI. My Canon G3 saves at 72 DPI. Strangely the highest DPI jpg saving camera I've...
5. Weekly Discussion - Logging your Reef

I registered the latest version of ReefCon Pro. It lets me track everything I could possibly dream of: equipment, livestock, water and trace elements log. Got reminders and maintenance. Right now I track PH, salinity, and temprature almost on a daily basis. Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are...
6. Big Tanks and their weight problems?

I went through this myself recently. I only have a 100G and my tank was going to be on parallel joists. The answer I got that made the most sense to me was, "I would rather overbuild and be confident then underbuild and be sorry". This is what I ended up doing for my own peace of mind...
7. Powersweeps?

It's pretty much providing a variety of currents in the tank to minimize dead spots.
8. Powersweeps?

They are ok for a cheap solution but you should think about saving up for something better. If you are ok with doing a monthly or bi-monthly maintenance of the unit you should be ok. Some people run them in a vinegar solution whenever they start getting stuck, and they're good to go again.

11. Photo Contest #7--ABSTRACT

Subject: Spiral growth on the inside of my cycling glass tank. I think it's snail eggs. The whole spiral is about .5 cm. Camera: G3 in Macro mode with manual focus. Locatioin: Whitecourt, Alberta.
12. Okay, I need some help here...tank diagnosis please...

Possibly the RO/DI unit needs the membranes / resin changed. What about lighting? If the bulbs are due for a change that might be a cause. Also what mechanical filtration is he using? If he's using a sand bed does he still have a high volume of sand sifters / detrivores?
13. All this about mixing new water and a wait period

Most refrences seem to suggest a wait of 24 hours. I think that has to do with older salt mixes and trying to gaurantee full dissolution / gas balance. Personally, I do a vigorous mixing by hand then let a powerhead sit in the tub while I finish off the other weekly maintenance. Then do...
14. Tank location - If I have a big entertainment system...

Sounds originating within a body of water travel far and faster than air. Sound does not transfer well when it has to cross over different media. ie air to water. I would mostly worry about the vibration caused by the bass / lfe vs the actual sound. Unless you're like marillion, you wouldn't...
15. 100G Indo-Pacific inshore featuring Synchiropus splendidus

I want to maintain only one tank specification online. So have a look here.
