always had them in my tanks have 2 in a 30 gl never had a problem.crash a tank no way.

that will work i use the controller for the chiller and plug the fans in the controller to go on at set temp.

actually 2 to 4 is enough for denitrification.its all personal referance but 2 to 4 is enough.

why use a chiller on a 46 gl tank.cooling fans over the top would cool the tank.u could get away without a pump.use a syphon method.syphon water from the tank through the chiller to the sump and make the return pump pump the water back to the tank.

been keeping reef tanks for 15 years had tanks from 10 to 180 gls.all had deep sand beds and all my tanks had zero nitrates.there could be other reasons your nitrates are high.are u filtering your make up water ro di.do u have wet dry with bio balls.try seeding the bed with some good live sand...

bare bottoms just aint natural.

the sand bed should be lowering your nitrates.u need hermits sand stars etc to keep the sand bed clean.in my opinion u should not syphon the sand bed.

in the picture i see a long spine urchin.watch him closely,i had one eat my orange monti. got rid of mine.
