I was hoping that adding a small tusk and raising him with shrimp and snails that were too big for him to eat would hopefully make him not see them as food as he grows. So far, no snails attacked; I don't keep crabs but I don't think he would eat them. I have seen him eat a bristle worm twice...

Yeah, obviously I know how it feels to lose fish... I think for some people, it's just about money so it's no big deal when a fish dies, they just go out and buy another one... sucks to spend more money, but it just a fish, right?
