I've been reading about this hobby for the past seven years and about a year and a half ago, - decided to "dive-in"! I started off small with a 45 gallon tank and currently I have a 75 gallon reef tank.
The 75 that I have running has about 2lbs of assorted live rock per gallon of water, with a rubble rock bottom.
The Lighting is a 48 inch Current Nova strip with 8 54 watt bulbs
I have a 30 gallon sump with my heaters,Skimmer, and a Phos-ban reactor running carbon in it -- basically just a holding tank --
A CPR refugium with eyco-system miracle mud.
Rio 2100 and 3100 Power heads for water movement.
The only additives that I put in the tank are Loogles iodine, ESV 2 part B-ionic, coral-vite, and Phyto-Feast.
I love this Hobby and can't think of anything that is more relaxing - other than maybe having a tank on the Tug Boat.
I'm in the process of putting together an equipment list for a 300 gallon reef tank which will happen in the near future. The best part about this hobby is having a fiancee that loves it just as much as I do.
Your the best San!
