Today while working on my tank I noticed a dead Turbo Snail behind a rock. Without thinking about it, I reached in there and pulled it out. The second that thing came out of the water, it emitted a smell worse than death. Battling the flu already, my stomach has been weak the last week or so...

I read an article in one of the Fish mags where a guy kept Mandarins in a nano. He got them to eat the small flying fish roe that you eat in sushi bars.

I'm going to have to buy a chiller. But, for now, I bought ten one gallon jugs of water that I have frozen solid. I put them in my sump a couple at a time. This drops the temp a little bit.

When I bought my Tang he was the size of a silver dollar. He's easily tripled in size over the last year. So, I wouldn't recommend buying even a small tang if you don't plan on up-sizing your tank in a year or so.

Indeed, they did. I remember seeing that episode. Even the mighty fifty caliber only penetrated the water a few inches.

I wouldn't say that nassarius snails are worthless. Mine come out of the sand like little zombies as soon as any food hits the bottom. They do a good job taking care of uneaten food.

My yellow is like a big puppy dog most of the time.

Is Krylon fusion is actually safe for use underwater?

I fought that slime for quite some time myself. It would drive me nuts. I'd siphon it out and it would be back in a matter of hours! I thought doing a series of water changes would help, they didn't. Finally, when I was ready to just give up, it quit! No joke, it quit completely from one day...
