Replacing Red Sea max 130 Skimmer to Tunze

Hey gang,


Looking for first hand knowledge if I can replace my red sea max 130 skimmer with a tunze 9004 skimmer. read conflicting stories and wanted to know if anybody had done it.

its a red sea 130D. From what I can tell the Tunze 9002 will fit, not the 9004 without mods

Thanks DEL. How do you like the 9002? I think they now replaced it with comline 9001. My sea max skimmer is a loud and my wife is going to lose her sh@# on my tank soon if I don't quiet it down

Go with the Tunze 9001 it's a great skimmer. The 9002 was discontinued early 2014. The 9004 will not fit.

The 9002 I don't even hear. I did the mod and changed out the tubing, but even before that it was still quiet. Still in the break-in period since the transfer was only done about 3 weeks ago. Plus the fact I keep turning it off and tinkering with all my wiring.
