Core n'grato: Oh man, trying to take a decent colony shot of the mother colony has been my goal for the past few weeks. For some reason, it comes out washed out each time. Just about ready to set up it's own photo tank. FWIW, it's colored up even more since I took that macro shot though, it's a beaut!

I made a really rookie move. My DT is upstairs and my sump is in basement. I can turn the pump off at the tank. So I would turn off to feed which raised the level of the sump and I left Skimmer on so it just basically overflowed. The Skimmer drains into the sink so I had no idea how much it was skimming. On top of that I didn't have a real ATO, I was using my RO unit for top off. So unlimited RO pumped into sump. Salinity dropped to about 1.01

:-\ LOST ALL LPS IN TANK including other pieces that I picked up after swap including a gold torch and a scolly

Thirty5 I feel ur pain! U should start a thread on that exact issue I've done it twice ! Skimmer goes nuts for some reason overflows then my ato kicks in dumps too much kalk ! I actually stopped using a skimate collector for that reason so if skimmer overflows it goes back into tank and my ato dosnt kalk bomb my tank!!
