Thanks Chip. I'm really happy with that one too. I've spent way too much time staring at it. :)

Here are a couple verticals:

Travis - without giving away all your secrets can you tell me what editing you did to those photos besides the cropping? Flat out amazing pics - if you are ever near Austin feel free to take pics of my lyretail hawk he's very photogenic :)

Sure!

Levels, brightness/contrast and selective unsharp mask on the subject only- USM on the background means lots of icky noise at 100%, and these are intended to be printed for a matted 16x20.

I'll be in austin this weekend, may try to make it by. PM me with your phone #.

How's the mantis?

Travis - mantis has changed from that nice cherry red to a lime green after molt other than that doing fine - also it is a she since I saw it carrying eggs around about 3 months ago.

Very nice, as usual. How do you set your white balance? And what ISO are you shooting at?

Thanks Len!

White balance was auto believe it or not.

ISO400 for both, probably all of them. They were shot with the Canon 28-135IS lens, the gorg shot was 1/15@f/8 and the cap vertical 1/10@f/6.7, neither using a tripod. :) Those IS (image-stabilized) lenses are a thing of beauty for low-light aquarium photography. :)
