Grey Market????? Not sure what you mean.

I just looked it up... But just to confirm "Grey Market" is for product that wasn't meant for sale in the US.

This I am not sure about. Do they have to advertise that on their website?? Or how would you go about finding that out.


I guess I will start by looking at their website in detail?

Sorry, should've clarified. Grey market products are purchased outside of the US, then brought in and sold here. Usually if you find a camera deal that sounds too good to be true, it's probably because it's grey market. The product is usually identical to a product imported through authorized distributors, but the warranty is usually voided (so if your camera breaks, you're out big bucks to get it repaired).

Most websites that are selling through authorized distributors will make a big deal out of telling you that it's "not grey market" or has "full US warranty" or something like that.

If you're not sure, you could always email the company and flat-out ask them if it's grey market or if it's got the full US warranty (not just full warranty, but full US warranty).

"Good Morning,
I basically just wanted to know if the Canon eos 10d that you have advertised for $1249 comes with a full US Warrenty?"

And this was their response

"yes it is, toorder please call us at 800-508-5126 ext 201
thanks"



But now you have thinking about this place.

When asking about US warrenty try to be clear that you mean a full US warrenty from the manufacturer (cannon) I have heard of some including thier own warrenty and calling it a US warrenty.
