Hi all. Looking into a new digital camera. I recently purchased a Sony V1, but am looking for something a bit better. My choices are the Nikon D100 or the Canon EOS Digital Rebel. Anyone have any experience with either of these two. I know the Canon is quite new. They are both very nie peices but am stuck between them. I currently own a Nikon N80 and a N60, so the lenses I have for them will work with the Nikon but it is a bit more expensive. Any info would b great.

If you have good lenses for the Nikon, it makes all the sense in the world to get the D100. If they're mediocre lenses, I might lean toward the Canon.

(I'm moving this over to our equipment forum, where it'd be a bit better situated.)

Now, to the question, I'm in the process of selling my Minolta DiMage 7i. I am/was really happy with the camera's quality and whatnot, but because it's a prosumer camera it can't handle interchangable lenses, and that's a huuuuge drawback when you do tons of sports photography. So because of the usual money woes, I most likely will be one of the new digital rebels by around Christmas time. One of our members here already has one and is achieving good results with it. But then again much of what a camera does is the eye behind the camera rather than the equipment. :)

Yep, I agree. If you've already got some Nikon stuff, Buy the Nikon. Other than being able to use your current lenses, the Learning curve will be a LOT easier going from nikon to nikon, rather than nikon to canon.

Just something to think about.

Thanks for all the help here guys. I do have some very decent Nikor lenses and I have been shooting for some time now. My fiance work at one of the local shops here so I have the chance to bring the camera home and play with it for a day or so and WOW. This D100 is sweet. I have printed a few pics at her store and I really like what I am getting. I believe I will be going with the Nikon but still not sure. I am going to give the Rebel a try here in the next day or so. Also I am looking at a used Fuji S2. Which my lenses will also fit.
