Greetings everyone!

I'm on a quest. I have been making trips into my LFS with my hubby and I see these beautiful clams in the tank.

If you have any pictures of clams from your tank would you please post them.

Thank you!

:D

In all seriousness now...

This one just died on me after 4 years with no discernable explanation. It had more than tripled in size too!

John and I will have to go back up to see Joy. Maybe even try to help out when she get a shipment.

It has been awhile since I saw her. We invitied her to our wedding but she was unable to get away the shop. : )

Again I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your pictures!

I am sick and tired of T. clams. :P Let's see something different!

This is one of my clams. It is a type of oyster. You should be able to discern the newest layer of growth on the shell.

That's cool. I think next oyster type clam that comes through the LFS might go into my tank. Hafta start reading up on them in the meantime.

Are they hardier than some of the other types of clams?

And what's the latest party line on bristleworms--are they still considered to go after clams?

I only have it for a few months. It seems to be growing, but it is like other filterfeeders in my tank, that just live without me paying any attention to them.

Flame scallop is a different issue. It got a much higher metabolism, and I won't touch it for another 5 years.

Bristleworm? It is like vultures. Harmless, and eat dead thing. When you see a swamp of vultures eating road kill as you drive by, it does make you think that it is the ugly looking birds that murdered the deer, doesn't it?

I ignore all my filter feeders. They are just in my tank without any particular attention being paid to them. I have feather dusters, a few unknow clams on the rock, Xmas tree worms on a Porites, sponges, etc..

I guess I am just too lazy, cheap and busy.
