Hey John, you haven't posted too many pics lately with your new camera. I've only seen a couple macros from ya- the starfish and snail eggs.

How are you liking it for aquarium photography? Is the reason you haven't posted many because you haven't purchased a macro lens?

Can you share some macro and fish pics you've taken with that camera?

I'm thinking of buying one in a couple months, and am trying to evaluate.

Thanks!

Oh, and PS- you should get your card today. Can you do me a favor and scan that photo in and email it to me? Thanks, my friend!

The Nikon fan that I am, I just wanted to let you know in a couple of months, Nikon will have a sub $1K dSLR too :) It's called the D70 and is based on Nikon's film N75. I'm guessing no later then March, preferably before that.

I'm a Nikon fan too, Len. That's good news. I still tote around my 4004 here and there, it's been a good camera for me.

Maybe I'll hold off. I really want to get myself a nice dSLR and get comfortable with it before May.

So the Nikkor lenses I have will work on the D70?

Seems to me they should. I have regular canon lenses that will fit the digital eos. I'm sure that Nikon wouln't be so stupid as to make a new camera that their current lenses won't work with.

Nikon has a long history of backward compatibility. It's one of Nikon's strong suit (the F-mount).

Maybe he is on vacation. It is "winter break" and he is a teacher after all.

Yeah sorry gang, I've been kind of in-absentia lately. I still LOVE the 300D and am constantly impressed by it. I haven't posted many photos here lately because I've been doing mostly non-reef stuff. I just haven't had time or money to do much new stuff with the tank in the past month or so, so haven't been really inspired to shoot much of it. I did grab a couple dozen shots last night of some hermits and some chromis, so we'll see how those turn out. :)

Fear not, I have not disappeared entirely! ;)

Too bad the same is not true of canon- I have everything from 24 to 300mm for my AE-1.
