Heh.. thanks. Did I ever tell you my dad got to take a two week study with Ansel a couple of years before he died (Mr. Adams, not my dad)? Anyway, here are some more (had a lag cuz Mom needed my help cleaning a suede jacket).

Most definitely. I love Adams, and these landscapes are very reminiscent of his work. I'm always amazed how he could do landscapes in b&w--so surprising because landscapes almost always need color to really fill them out.

Wow, you think so? You flatter me.. :)

The B&W, in my opinion, makes us consider the.. how would I put it..? It makes us consider the form itself. I think that by taking the color away, by removing one of those "spectacularization" aspects, it gives us a chance to "see underneath", seeing the forest for the trees, if you will. Who knows what may happen once I move up there, eh?

Yup, Adams worked extensively with composition and contrast. I think that's what makes him so great, he was just such a master of those photographic elements.

Yes.. but choices, choices.. do I ask for a sweet little digicam, or good winter boots for the move up to Tahoe!??! I'm thinking about playing around with some of the shots in The GIMP, try them in B&W, see what happens?

Nice pictures Seagal, that area reminds me a lot of where I live. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.
