You will need software to do this. Most photo-editting software (including ones that come with digital cameras) can reduce file sizes and image dimensions. Photoshop is the most popular and powerful tool for photo-editting and the one I highly recommend. Some cameras come packaged with Photoshop LE (a limited edition but still with lots of utlities including resizing).

Thanks len the software I have (Kodak easyshare, dell image expert) doesn't have the reducing feature. Kodak will reduce size in there email feature, but not to send a file to your forum. Maybe I'm going about it wrong! In photoshop I would assume there is a feature that reduces file size and lets you save that size file. Is this correct?

If you have Photoshop, then yes, you should have a reduce image size feature. In Linux, I'm using Gimp, and I would right click on the image, highlight "Image", highlight "Scale Image", then click. Then what comes up is a dialogue box that gives me the option of reducing it by pixel size or percent. I almost always use percent, cuz my brain works that way.

With ACDSee (my favorite Windows flavor photo editing tool), I had it right there in the toolbar up top. A friend of mine had given me a free photo editing program he'd found online, I believe it's called "Irfan".. I'll do a quick search.

Always remember to "Save As" and give it a different name, or you'll lose the original.

If you'd like, you can email the pic(s), I'll reduce them, then send them back. Just pm me and let me know.
