Pieces of the Ocean is looking for an experienced and passionate aquarist to help us maintain a growing list of private saltwater aquariums.
Responsibilities:
- going out on service calls;
- testing for all essential water parameters;
- cleaning and servicing all aspects of a reef aquarium system;
- identifying and addressing concerns and making appropriate recommendations with regard to servicing and stocking to customers;
Requirements:
- experience keeping a saltwater aquarium (must have one running now under your care)
- can identify saltwater fish, corals, fish diseases, and coral pests
- a good understanding of water dynamic and plumbing basics in a saltwater aquarium
- a clean driving record (no points, no dui)
- able to work weekends
- able to travel to Staten Island
- organized
- can pass a background check
- able to lift 60lbs
- a certain level of self-reliance, maturity and professionalism is expected
Nice to have:
- experience setting up advanced equipments such as Neptunes Systems Apex and calcium reactors
- experience with fragging corals
- experience with at least one methodology such as Triton, carbon dosing, etc
- experience with hard plumbing
