Wrasse eating my snails! help

i bought a Melanurus Wrasse 2 days ago, i asked them if they were reef safe and invertebrate safe and they said yes!
today when i come from im looking around my tank and see some empty shell..start feeding the tank and all the nassarius snails came out..he started biting them and eating them

do they tend to eat snails or mines is just SPECIAL :/

Funny you said that, I have a melanurus in my tank now too and just noticed that my hermit crabs seem to be disappearing...

so im guessing they are really not safe then, i also searched for some info before buying it and the ones i read said its a good addition to a reef tank

ya mine will pick off the a snail or two, but it leaves shrimp alone. I never touched my clams or anything other then snails though..

My Mystery will hunt down any shrimp so I don't get them.He also eats some of my snails.Better that than my corals.

well i think he was just having a really bad day..or was really hungry because he hasnt touched a snail again! thank god

i was about to return him back to the store
lets see how he keeps acting
