overflow gurgling

Hi everyone,

I have an overflow thats gurgling, and I think its due to the fact that my standpipe is short. I have 1 1/4'' pvc -> reducer->1''pvc -> 1'' bulkhead

I cemented everything except the reducer to the 1'' pvc. I'm afraid to pull the standpipe b/c I dont' want to mess with the seal between the bulkhead gasket and the glass.

Is there any way I can stop this gurgling?

Tap more holes into the top of the stand pipe. More air less noise.
