I'm currently treating 5 medium size to large tangs with ich in a very small space, this is the best I can do as I don't have a huge qt tank. They are in about 30gl tank. I have in the tank about 20lbs of live rock and a power head also with a seaclone protein skimmer that doesn't really skim just for more water movement. The fish are all breathing very rapid I'm not sure what I can do. I just started treatment yesterday with the recommended dosage on the bottle. I just feed them and most of them seem to eat but half lost their appetite. I'll do a 5gl water change daily and see if this will help. Any other tips? Thanks.

You're treating with Copper, so you need a test kit to make sure that you're treating at the correct level, .25, as if you're not treating at the correct level, it wouldn't work. So you want to get a test kit and make sure the level is correct.

A 30gal tank is on the small side for 5 good size tangs to treat, so you should remove the live rock and, and as mention above, add a couple of pieces of PVC. Also the live rock is absorbing some of the copper, so you're probably not at the correct level. Try not to feed that much, as that will only add more waste to the tank. If would probably be best to get another tank, or rubbermaid container, and spread out the fish, that way you wouldn't have to worry about the water turning bad. The treatment is 2 weeks after you've seen the last white spot, so it does take sometime to work.

I just treated my Potter angle fish he had velet and also ich. Very important keep tank 78 no higher. Cupramine didn't work for me I used copper safe. Like other post must keep at .25 or it won't work. Wait at least 4 days then to a 5 gallon water change. If you do a water change you must add more copper. So testing a must. Take live rock out. Put something that they can hide like flower pot. I also added stress coat . I added garlic to his food too. Ich was gone in 5 days and remove him to other tank with old water from other tank. Now watching him for any out breaks. Didn't want him swimming in a tank loaded with ich looking to attach to him in more of numbers. When breathing became normal which was one day of treatment. I did a fresh water bath with same temp. and ph for a 90 seconds. Been almost week no signs of ick...I wanted to say he was a eating very good during his treatment. Eating is very important sign as how fish is doing. When they stop eating signs it might be a little to late. After 6 more weeks, If no out breaks he can go back to his normal tank. I like for him to fight it off himself if he can. Don't like any fish in copper for a month. To me that stress than out more. good luck...
