Hey I'm new to the saltwater world and I have always had a cichlids all my life. I am interested in starting a reef and coral tank with a few fish. What I have so far...a 57 gallon rimless tank and stand, Aqueo Circulation Pump 950 gph, and I just purchased a ASM Mini In Sump Protein Skimmer. Thats all I have so far. I'm waiting to I close on my condo before I really set it up. But I'm trying to gather all the pieces of what I need so when I move in I can set it up and get it going. I want to have a Live rock filtration system. Can anyone give me advice of what to buy next and lighting system. Thank you.

I would look into t5's unless you want to spend cash and get LED's :)

Also look for some sort of additional pump for in the tank for more circulation.

Thanks I appreciate it. I was looking into the T5 for now but any recommendations on the additional pump? Thank you.

Depends on what you want to spend. You can get a couple powerheads for inside the tank like a Korilia (sp), but I was talked into getting an MP10 by echotech. Much more expensive but from what people say definately worth it. Good thing about it is that the actual motor is outside the tank and the wet side (with the prop) is driven magnetically. The head can also be tuned, does not just have an on and off...

Welcome.. I have a 57 rimless as lighting I am using ati t5 and as a pump I am using a vortech mp40, u can get away with using a mp10 but it all depends on how much rock you have. There are pics of my set up if u want to take a look.. Here's the link.
