MegaFlow#4 sump/refugim up and running

So last Sunday I got my MegaFlow#4 sump/refugim up and running for my 110g tank, So I got the bio balls, 4in of live sand with miracle mud, live rock & macro algae in it, my question is when will I start to see a difference in the water quality, when with the sump start controlling & lowering the Nitrate???

You might want to swap the bioballs for rock, those balls are nitrate factories. As for water differences, that would depend on your feeding pattern and how much live stock you have in the tank. If there isn't enough macro algae growing to take out all the nitrate u add, you wont really notice a difference at all.

Well I will add more macro algae to the sump.
Is there a problem with having more them one type of macro algae in the sump???

How old is your system? It seems like you are trying to rush the process.

My tank is 6mon runing, & I just got me sump, its been runign for 2 weeks now, I dont want to rush the process, just to help it.

Just give it some time, in another month or 2, you will need to start trimming the macro algae because of over growth. But seriously swap the bioballs for somekind of rock, they trap a lot of waste and they become nitrate factories after a few months.

So my sump now is been running for the past month, I don?t think there is good water flow in the sump I was thinking of adding a powerhead to the sump, do you guys have a powerhead in your sump??? & if I need to get one which one to get??

And for my sump light, I have 2 9W compact, is that good?

Do you mean the flow in your fuge section of the sump? Its normal for the flow to be slow in there, actually its preferable.

Will the macro algae grow better with more flow? or it needs low flow? & I was just thinking that there will be no build up of crap in the sump if I have more flow.

lower flow gives you more stable conditions and a better place for pods to grow.
