my friend just text me telling he got in his tank, he sent me this pic asking me wat this is. idk wat it is. he said it was about 1/2'' or 3/4" big. can some 1 help me id this. is this ok or do he have a problem

Its Harmless, think of it as a fast moving and reproducing snail

I never knew the official name, but I used to see them in my tank after lights out. Fast moving grazer on the glass. Never bothered a thing.

Well maybe you still have more in your system, I hope you do, as Stomatella are very good inhabitants for the reef system. You can ask for some at your LFS as these are mostly hitchhikers on live rock, coral frags ...

Don't worry, if he threw it out, and it's that bad, he has a ton more. Stomatellas are the bomb.

I just seen I got a lil nursery going on in my refugium. So when I see them I fish them out with a net and throw them into the display tank.
