I know!!! Four years into this and I am posting in the reefs for beginners forum... Yikes
O.K. So I am 2 weeks into my cycle and my readings are
Amonia 1.0
Nitrite .50
PH 8.2
Nitrates 0
The params have been stalled at these readings for about a week.
I never cycled with DRY ROCK (from BRS)
Is this normal?
I added some special blend last night. Hoping to see some changes in the next few days.
LMK what you think.
I want to avoid having a cycle stall.
I also have been adding a combo of mysis and flake every few days.
I am going to repost this in my tank thread. Sorry mods.

Your right in the middle of the cycle. I would suggest putting some live rock unless u already have. Prolly be done cycling in the next 2-3 weeks. Took my 220 6 weeks to cycle using dry rock seeded with seachem stability and live rock from my prior tank.

Until you seed the tank with something there won't be any bacteria to help start the cycle.
It's stuck at the very beginning because there is nothing to start the process.
Rock or sand from an established tank will speed that process considerably. Do you have anything? If not you can get some from me as I'm a couple miles away from you.
