Phosban reactor question

I got this Phosban reactor

and Rowa phos media.

1. I put this whole Rowa media into the phos ban.
2. I did rinsing.
3. Its now in my Refugium

did I do it corretly or did I miss anything?

ummm... that comes in a baggy correct? if it did, then it doesnt need to be in a reactor. you could have just layed it in line in your sump.

No it did not come with a bag. I put it into the PHOSBAN reactor

Remember when you use a pump for the phosban reacter you have to adjust the water flow on it and it should be tumbling a little bit inside the reactor.

Its not tumbling. I got maxi jet 400 pump.
what do you think is the problem???

Angelo that is not GFO or Biopellets... that is a phosphate sponge.

i use the same also ......did u use the filter sponge in the reactor and did u cover the hole from the tube that take the water in , did u cover that when u poured the rowa in ?

It's not technically a "Sponge"... it's just that type of media that is a sponge.

ROWAphos is a lot finer than normal GFO. You only want very little of top to boil.
I use it, and find it more forgiving on the amount.
What size tank, and what size container.

Its not TUMBLING at all, I put the whole thing that was in the container, maybe thats why????

Check the plumbing, MJ400 @ 105gph should be more than enough to move the GFO.

Its moving the water, but not tumbling... It needs to tumble... what should I do?

Make sure the pump is connected to the inlet in the center. The outlet is off center. Also a sponge on the bottom and top. And a valve on the pump inlet. I used both rowaphos and the 150 with no problems.

Maybe u put to much in. only half of the reactor should be full with the gfo, or little bit less than half is better.
