Tank chiller for Red sea max 250?

Hi
I notice i need a chiller since the weather get nice and hot my living room get hot so i definetly need a chiller.
What do you guys recommend for Red sea 250 65 gal SW tank?
Some say 1/10 or 1/5 or 1/4 will be good as well but that for like 250 gals?
The 1/2 is too big dont have much room for it . But will love to place it in cabinet if possible any recommendations what size and company ?
Does it matter name of company or does it make a difference?.
Any help will be greatly appreciated .

I went with a JBJ Arctica 1/10th HP. Works great. You'll see it in my RSM250 thread.

It's quiet and is rated for correctly for the tank size:

Also you CAN NOT place it in the stand, it needs PLENTY of ventilation 12" in front of and 12" behind of open space

Chillers require large amounts of ventilation. It's not recommended to place in a cabinet but if u do u must provide exhaust fans for good air circulation. Chillers put out alot of heat.

Will that unit decrease temp 20 degree lower if needed ? Cause if it get to 98f
if it lower it to 78 that will be great ?

Yes- you set it to the temp you want. I have mine set for 78 degrees, as soon as it gets to 79 it kicks on and cools it back down to 77.7.

It will never let it get higher than 79 or 1 degree over where you set it at.

Just ordered mine jbj 1/10 they had one on fleebay used but he wanted 370 bucks for it .
For $440 u get one new and free shipping so that what i did at doc foster & smith site.
I hope i didnt get too small size since alot ppl who own red sea max have got the 1/5 .

It all depends on the chiller company- JBJ says the 1/10th is good for up to 130G.
You'll do fine with it.
