I love having a large reef tank. For example, I have not seen my watchman goby for about 8 months, sure enough today during feeding, he popped out one of the tunnels, looking a lot larger. He was been paired with a pistol shrimp for years.
I also like to watch the changes in fauna. For example, the types of macro algae and sponges that appear and disappear over the years. The spread of corals. Very interesting if you have the patience and take things slow. Tank going on 10 years, including a 10 year old maroon clown.
