Bio Pellets

Hey was wondering on wat are u guys feeling about bio pellets and is it a good idea or just another way for companys to get $. Would like to know if you do run it what are the results and how do you like it so far.

I've been running them for 1 year so far. If u ask do they work then yes, they do what they say they do. My nitrates always stay at 1 no higher or lower checked with Elos. I keep a heavy bio-load also and feed heavy. But don't know if my inability to keep certain sps and certain colors is due to the pellets. Still trying to figure it out. I may just let it run out and c what happens don't want to just take it off line. I also run a DSB which suppose to help with the nitrates.

Had them for 5 months. Removed after cyano was growing on sand bed . I only found that nitrates were lowered not to much phosphate. Still had to run GFO with carbon that worked better for me.

i agree i tried for 1 year nitrate was lower but phosphate was higher

I just started running mine 2 weeks ago, so I can't say they work just yet.

But I read somewhere that there is only 2 formulas for bio-pellets. 1 of them handles phosphates better. I forgot the formulas, but I do remember EcoBak had the formula that handled phosphates better.

Either way, I'm still running Phosban. haha
