Bio cube skimmer

Have a 14 gal Bio cube. The skimmer has a I believe a wooded air stone. This air stone is constantly getting clogged. Does anyone have experience with this skimmer? Is there an alternative to using there wooden stone? Would an ordinary air stone work?

The purpose of the wood stone is for the fine bubbles, if you can find an alternative it should be just as good.

Alternitive

I read online that the lime wood gives tiny bubbles. Thought perhaps that someone had luck with something other than the limewood

Chances are you can get along without a skimmer as long as you change water, about a quart a week.

Trying an air stone I got from petsmart. It was listed as tiny bubbles. Let you know how it's going.
