No!!! Lol na I wouldn't be concerned about the worm. But it probably means you have been over feeding. 1 or two aren't a big deal. This one looks big tho I would pull it out just because I hate them lol.

So cut down on feeding if you feed less they will disappear on their own.

Use a piece of panty hose with a piece of shrimp in the middle and place it in the tank or use a worm trap. Then you need to reduce your feeding otherwise they will mass produce and you will have a large amount of bristle worms. They spawn very easy. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1348237600.588313.jpg
Thats what happends when they spawn. I reduced my feedigs from 2 a day to once and I have them slightly under control with a 6 line wrasse and a melnaruous wrasse. They reproduce extremely fast and have massive amounts of babies. They will invade your coral and if you have anything that is slightly dieing they will finish it off. They are scavengers.

I honestly can't believe people are saying that bristle worms are a bad thing. They are great for a cuc, and even better for people with bad husbandry lol.

Anything that does not harm corals or fish and that will clean excess uneaten food are a plus in my book.

Can they annoy a coral? Sure, will they kill one? No way.

The picture the OP posted is a bristleworm, not a fire worm.

They are great scavangers in a tank. If you overfeed your tank the population will get larger. If you feed the correct amount for the number of fish you have, the bristle worms will consume any leftover bits the fish might miss.

Overfeeding a tank is just that - putting in way too much food at once that your fish cannot consume within about 3-5 minutes or less. You could feed your fish 3 times a day and still NOT be overfeeding - as long as each meal is small.

IMO a tank SHOULD be fed daily. We are keeping fish who live to do only 2 things...eat and reproduce. Feedings should be daily to keep your fish from becoming stressed. Stressed fish are more prone to jumping from the tank, fighting and getting sick.
