I got the ALD for xmas. The module is connected but I cant figure out how to program it. I tried copying someone's programming but the alarm goes off constantly until I shut off the outlet. I'm not even sure that I have right switch selected. Is the Alarm outlet supposed to be set to auto?

I'm running the latest firmware 4.31

Thanks.

Looks like you're using the wrong switches. Your ALD is ALD_7. On the Dashboard do you see 4 switches called:

Switchx7_1 or Swx7_1
Switchx7_2 or Swx7_2
Switchx7_3 or Swx7_3
Switchx7_4 or Swx7_4

Those are your leak detector probes/switches. Reverse the condition on your sound alarm to read:

If SWITCHNAME Closed then On

OPEN condition is the state of the switch which your floors are dry. It's water that comes in contact with the probe that creates the CLOSED condition.

Give that a try... g'luck!

Widdy thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I just changed it according to your suggestions. What about the sndalrm_I6 outlet on the dashboard? I noticed that the alarm goes off constantly if I leave the outlet "on". I have it on "auto" and I tried putting some water on the probe but the alarm did not go off??

Am I doing something wrong?

You're welcome!

That's working as intended, ON will trigger the Alarm continuously sound unconditionally. It should be on AUTO and defined conditionally elsewhere.

Your programming statement looks fine. Here's mine for Alarm6:

c

Make sure your probe/sensor is plugged into port 1 of the ALD?

Also can you verify which revision of 4.31 you're running for me?

Just came across this: http://forum.neptunesystems.com/showthread.php?3316-New-Firmware-Release-Rev-4-31_CC13

I'm upgrading mine right now.

I've got version 4.31L_CC13

I updated the firmware yesterday.

I double checked and I have the probe plugged into S1 on the module. The water is supposed to come into contact with the metal strips, right? How much water does it take to trigger the alarm? I basically dipped my finger in water and ran it over the metal strips but nothing happened.

Sorry, I had to ask. Some times it's the most trivial of things that's a show stopper.

Yes, a little water would trigger it. Or even your bare fingers would as well.

Have you tried the programming on another outlet? Say a pump... last resort, reboot the Apex headunit and test again.

LOL, tell me about it. I've had more than my share of bonehead moments, especially when it comes to the APEX. I'm really hoping the Fusion update makes things idiot proof because as much as I love it, the Apex gives me the most headaches of any piece of equipment that I own.

I'll try another outlet. Do I just copy the programming from the sndalm outlet to another outlet?

That's a possibility. Wouldn't have a 2nd probe would ya? At this junction, I would run your config past Neptune support and see if they have any other suggestions. Sorry I couldn't help getting it to work.

Widdy, thanks for all your help. I really appreciate the effort! I just ordered a 2nd probe. I wanted to get a 2nd one anyway so we'll see what happens.
