i just got a hippo tang, and am worried because they are known as the lords of ICH. please give me recommendations from preventing the comings of ICH. i believe the fish is ICH free, and i am watching him like a hawk. i also have a UV sterilizer and started putting garlic with the food and i place cloves in the sump. is there any other precautions i should take?

Thanks I'm gonna try to get some, I have just found ich on my sailfin tang and some other more extreme case of parasite on my tomini.

I never heard of garlic in the sump. Is that a common approach? Also are talking qt or main tank

I stopped with the garlic in the sump, the ich is in the display tank.

Hippo fare better than powder blue and others tangs. If you keep your fish well fed in clean and stable water temp. they can shrug off a little ich. UV will help if the wattage and flow is apporpriate..

The hippo looks like it has gotten rid of the few spots he had. I am hoping to get a cleaner wrasse or cleaner shrimp, which will help with my sailfin tang. My tomini tang has some sort of worm or very serious parasite, I have no idea what is is.
