New tank water question!

I've had my tank running for about a week already and I'm noticing evaporation... I don't have RO water easily accessible right now... Can I use distilled water for the time being until I have time to go to the fish store to get RO water?

yes you can use distilled but the best is rodi

+1 you are never really sure what kind of coils they distill the water with but it can work in a pinch. I would highly recommend looking into getting an RODI system either from a member on here or from BRS. In the long run you will save money over purchasing RODI at a LFS, and having the connivance of making RODI water at home. Also you have peace of mind knowing that your membrane and filers are well maintained and you are producing 0 TDS water. IMO an RODI system is as essential to your system as the tank itself.

Yeah, get yourself something like a spectra pure unit, I think they got them on sale, 90 GPD for under 200 bucks, I've seen a store or 2 that changes their filters once the output TDI is in the 50s. Evaporation will always happen so get yourself some buckets with the lids on them from home depot to store extra water.
