Hi Folks - I am setting up a oceanic 29 gallon biocube and have a doubt on the water pump that comes with the biocube....this is a used tank and i am the second owner....there is noise while the water is circulating so need to know if this is normal or i need to replace the water pump....here's a quick link to the video....

You need to throw the whole tank out when that happens because thats from glass termites. or you don't have enough water in the tank hence the slurping sound and white bubbles.

Bioman/Widdy - i figured what the issue was....actually the water pump was not completely soaked in water hence it was making that noise....i just topped it with more RO water so now it became silent :)
The pump came with the biocube so its not strong or weak....its for that 29 gal biocube...

That's what I meant. The bio cube display tank may seem full of water but the hidden areas are where the water runs low. You should have a thin small glass window running up and down the side where the pump is. Once you fill up the water mark with masking tape or post it note then look the following day where the level is and add RO water (salt stays) till you get back to the level and that's how you base your evaporation rate for the setup.

The back will overflow before the front does. Check your salinity. If it's acceptable then your at your mark. If salinity is too high then replace a gallon or 2. If it's too low then put a small amount, like a teaspoon on top of filter pad that covers the bio balls in chamber 2 and let it dissolve on its own from the water circulating. Test again and repeat until you get to where you want it to be
