ATO question

Hey! What container are you using for your RODI water? I'm looking to set up an ATo system and am curious what everyone is using.

I'm using a 32g grey Brute trash can for my larger system & a white 5g pail that once held BRS kalk powder for my smaller AIO RSM 250 tank.

i have a 29g DT with a 10g Sump. My ATO is a separate 10g glass tank

I use a nutra sea water jug, with a gravity drain line to a float valve. Float switch attached to apex incase the float gets stuck and dumps all the 4 gal in the sump.

I have a 75g DT with a 20g sump. I have a 20g brute pail next to the tank which I have my ato storage water which runs to the float switch setup from autotopoff.com. I draped a throw blanket over the pail, so it looks like an end table.

I'm using the 2.5g Nutra-sea water jug. Only thing I can fit inside tank with the limited space. The pump for the Tunze ATO drops right into the container.

if you go the garbage can route it must be a Brute... i've used other and eventually got pin hole leaks which turned to bigger leaks.

right now i have a 32g for my STO and a 44g for water changes

Most people do
But I wouldn't put kalkwasser in my ATO reservoir there's no control

The electronic eye on the tunze osmolator will need to be cleaned often and it may shorten the life of the pump. I've run kalk in an ato container but the problem is that you need to have proper saturation so that powder is not dumped into your tank. I think on larger top off containers if you have the tunze pump not sitting at the bottom of the container it should be ok but the lime water needs to be mixed continuously. Kalk reactors work well for this purpose.

I just use a 5 gallon salt mix container
