There are already threads on the use of Peroxide in saltwater tanks on MR that could have helped you and also on some other reef boards. Some with good results and some that are in the borderline range. It works wonders on hair algae on frags as a dip. Research thoroughly before adding anything to yur tank that might cause more hard than good.
Yeah I read some of them, yet I didn't see much on the concentration of H2O2 that should be used. Guess I should have looked more into it...lesson learned.
I just hope others will see this and not make the same mistakes.
Like already mentioned there is a lot of information in numerous forums on successful use of peroxide. It seems that instead of spending little time to read you took an easier way out just by watching a single YouTube clip. It sucks to see your tank destroyed and the living things die over this.
It wasn't so much the dosage but the concentration of the peroxide he used. Sometimes we make mistakes with our tanks and need to vent to someone that should understand our plight but instead get inflammatory remarks that make you step back from the community.
MR as a whole needs to step up their communication skills when responding to threads as what you type may not exactly be what you meant and may come across as a snide remark.
I certainly don't see any snide or inflammatory remarks. The op stated he hopes no one else makes the same mistake but deleted his original post. I too am h2o2 dosing right now and I'm curious to what mistake he made. The forum is about learning and helping other reefers. My post was an honest attempt to find out what was done to wipe out his tank. I'm not sure why he deleted his original post but it would be more helpful to others if it was left up for others to learn from. Sorry if you were offended.
