How many fish is too much?

I have a 75 gallon tank. Right now i have 6 fish. hippo, yellow tang, sail fin, 2 clowns and a bicolor blenny. How many fish would be considered overkill in my tank? Could I get 1-2 more?

i think it all depends on you maintenance and fish size.. i have 12 in my 75..the largest is a YT all others are small.

20 gal wc.every two weeks along with gfo..carbon changed 1 per month.

without knowing too much about your system, other than your fish list i would think you could add a few more. I dont think I would go with additional tangs or other good sized fish. If you have consistent levels, and dont skip on maintenance you should be fine.
what were you thinking of adding to the tank? I have few anthias in my setup and they are colorful and active fish

I think I currently have 13 in my 65. Definitely at the limit now...

The way I see it, it?s not about how good your water quality is, or how good you are with the maintenance, is the fact the some fish need bigger tanks. You can have 30 small fish in a 75G but you can have 30 tangs in a 75G, it depends on the size of the fish. I would not put 3 tangs in a 75G


If you want to had more fish go with dwarf angelfish or smaller.

I was thinking of adding 1-2 smaller fish. not any tangs or anything of that nature. But just wasn't sure if having 9 was overkill or not. And in the near future i will be selling off my sailfin so i will be down a tang.

If u have a mixed reef with the fish then uour fish list is plenty more fish means more phosphates which will stress your corals out and require more strenuous maintenance also more fish means more territoriality which can lead to stress and ich u don't want to add that one fish that will upset the balance
