red slime algae

Can Anybody tell me the best way to get rid of cyano?this thick red slime is trying to take over my tank, need the best and quickest way to do it would appreciate any real suggestions

Increase your flow, cut back on feeding, I turn off my lights for a few days. Siphon out as much as possible and do water changes. I would do small water changes but frequently just my opinion

This is a pretty good summary of cyanobacteria remedies but the author is flat out wrong about nitrogen gas.
